Privacy Policy

1. Overview

CyFuel ("the app", "we", "us") is a free, independent web application that displays fuel prices from the Cyprus Government Fuel Price Observatory, refreshed daily. CyFuel is operated by LudeHQ, based in Larnaca, Cyprus. LudeHQ is the controller for any personal data processed through the site.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information, if any, we collect when you use CyFuel and how it is used.

2. Information We Collect

We do not ask you to provide personal information. Specifically:

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
  • We do not store your location data. Location features (if used) are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to our servers.
  • We do not use tracking cookies.

3. Anonymous Analytics

We may collect anonymised, aggregated analytics data (e.g. page views, country, device type) via privacy respecting tools. This data cannot be used to identify you individually. You can block analytics by using a browser ad blocker or privacy extension.

4. Legal Bases

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Operating and securing CyFuel, including short lived server logs processed by our hosting provider, is based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
  • Anonymous, cookieless analytics is based on our legitimate interests in understanding how the site is used and keeping it useful, under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
  • Your device location for the near me feature is processed only in your browser and is never sent to us. No personal data processing takes place on our side for this feature.

5. Data Source

All fuel price data displayed in CyFuel is fetched once a day from the Cyprus Government's Fuel Price Observatory (Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry). CyFuel does not store historical price records.

6. Service Worker & Caching

CyFuel registers a browser Service Worker to enable offline use and faster loading (Progressive Web App). The service worker caches static assets (HTML, CSS, JS) on your device only. No personal data is stored in the cache.

7. Third Party Services

CyFuel uses the following third parties:

  • Google Maps: Optional map links open Google Maps in a new tab. Google's own privacy policy applies.
  • Vercel: Hosting and anonymous analytics provider. Vercel may process standard web server data such as your IP address, request path, and timestamp under its Privacy Policy. Hosting request logs are kept briefly by Vercel and are not used by us to identify anyone.

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

8. International Transfers

Vercel may process request data for hosting and analytics outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where applicable, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Cookies

CyFuel does not set any first party cookies. Third party services listed above may set their own cookies subject to their policies.

10. Your Rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Ask us to erase your personal data.
  • Receive your personal data in a portable format.
  • Ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data.
  • Object to the processing of your personal data.

Since we hold effectively no personal data, most requests will have nothing to return. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@cyfuel.online.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

11. Children's Privacy

CyFuel is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest revision.
